David Beckham: United States' Olympic qualifying exit is disappointing

David Beckham is disappointed that the United States will not be participating in the upcoming Olympic Games and indicated that he could play for England's squad this summer in London.
"Obviously, it's disappointing," the LA Galaxy midfielder said. "I'd like to play against the U.S. if I'm involved in the GB team."
The U.S. Under-23 team was eliminated from the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament earlier this week after losing to Canada and drawing with El Salvador. The young Americans will miss a big opportunity to gain international recognition in July.
"It's disappointing because obviously there are a lot of young kids there that are there who the eyes are on," Beckham said. "The teams and the players are involved and from a soccer point it's obviously disappointing."
Canada, Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras will compete in the CONCACAF tournament this weekend in Kansas City to decide which two nations will reach the Olympics.
