AZ beats RKC 1-0 to stay top in Dutch league

AZ Alkmaar stayed top of the Dutch league by beating RKC Waalwijk 1-0 through Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s second-half goal on Sunday.
Gudmundsson struck in the 49th minute.
Defending champion Ajax beat PSV Eindhoven 2-0 stay within a point of AZ. Midfielder Ismael Aissati played a crucial role in Ajax’s win, scoring one just after the break before winning a penalty, which Siem de Jong coolly converted in the 62nd.
John Guidetti, Ruben Schaken and Sekou Cisse scored second-half goals in Feyenoord’s 3-0 win against last-place De Graafschap.
On Saturday, FC Twente wasted a chance to move provisionally top after drawing 1-1 at ADO The Hague.
With seven more rounds to go, AZ has 56 points. Ajax has 55 and Twente 52, one more than PSV, Feyenoord and SC Heerenveen.
