The striker has since returned to the fold at the Etihad Stadium and made his comeback in Wednesday's win over Chelsea, six months after his last appearance following his infamous bust-up with Roberto Mancini.

Galliani watched Tevez in action against the Blues and concedes he rues failing to bring the player to the San Siro, admitting he was "in love" with the South American.

"When he entered the game changed.

"He drives me crazy, but some trains have to be taken in the exact moment which they pass, while fate decided otherwise.
