LONDON (AP)—Bolton says midfielder Fabrice Muamba remains critically condition in intensive care at a London hospital two days after collapsing during a match because of a cardiac arrest.
The 23-year-old midfielder’s heart only started beating on its own when he arrived at the London Chest Hospital on Saturday night from Tottenham’s stadium, medics said, after having fallen face down on the turf just before halftime.
The club adds that Muamba’s “heart condition is stable.”
Muamba collapsed in the 41st minute of the FA Cup match at White Hart Lane, and paramedics immediately began trying to revive him near the halfway line.
