HARRY REDKNAPP has backed Jose Mourinho to make a sensational return to Chelsea.

Tottenham's boss reckons the Blues are the ONLY outfit capable of tempting the Special One from Real Madrid.

Redknapp said: "He's an amazing guy, a great personality. You wonder if he would come back.

"It would be difficult to leave a club like Real Madrid. But Chelsea are maybe the one club that can tempt him.

"He was fantastic when he was here. A character who knows the game and who was great at his job."

Mourinho won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup at Chelsea before leaving in 2007.

The Portuguese coach has since lifted the Champions League with Inter Milan and is currently top of La Liga with Real.

Redknapp admits that taking over from sacked Andre Villas-Boas would be a 'dream' job for someone.

He added: "It's a club where you can win a championship. The owner has spared no expense.

"So it's a dream job for somebody to go there and make a success of it. But you have to make a success of it. If you don't, you're not going to last."

Redknapp distanced himself from the role, declaring: "I wouldn't be able to come back to North London. I'll pass on that one."

Meanwhile Redknapp is convinced Jermain Defoe can do a Euro 2012 job for England.

Wayne Rooney is banned for the first two games and Redknapp noted: "Darren Bent is also out for the season so suddenly you are looking at it and Jermain has every chance."
