Sergio Aguero: The Manchester City striker has scored 21 goals for the Premier League leaders this season
Lionel Messi is encouraging his international team-mate and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero to return to Spain.
Aguero is being linked with a move to Real Madrid, but City boss Roberto Mancini has ruled out a swap with Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentina international, who has scored 21 goals for the Premier League leaders this season, is also being urged to move to the Bernabeu by his father-in-law Diego Maradona.
The 23-year-old moved to Manchester from Real's rivals Atletico Madrid last summer and reportedly turned down the chance to join Jose Mourinho's squad.
Despite playing for Real Madrid's title rivals Barcelona, Messi admits he would like to see his friend move back to La Liga.
He told Radio 9: "If he goes to Real Madrid I am sure it will give him much joy. If it's the best thing for him, I will be very happy, because of our friendship.
"I get along very well with Kun off the field and we play well together. However in the national team there are very good strikers so we must take advantage of every time we are recalled."
