Sanchez: I can give more to Barca

Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez states that despite his good performances, he has never ended a game saying "I played well today" and believes that more is to come.

The Chilean was formerly a player in the Serie A side of Udinese. He joined Barcelona this season for a sum reported in the region of 25 million euros, becoming the first Chilean player to join the club.

This season he has been in scintillating form, having scored eight goals in 14 games. He has connected well with the Barcelona trio of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi and he revealed on the club website that he is enjoying playing for Barcelona as compared to his time back in Italy.

"Playing here is a beautiful thing for a footballer," he said.

"The style in Italy is more defensive."

"When I received the ball I'd have three men marking me, the defence was closer."

He is still optimistic of raising his game to a new level and believes that there is more to come from him.

When asked about his best game yet for Barcelona, he replied: "I haven't finished a game where I say to myself ‘I played well today.' I'm not at my best level, I know I can give more of myself."

"I didn't want the last game [against Valencia] to end, I really wanted to score, play better... I'm never satisfied."

For now, he is enjoying his first season, even if it might end with the defending champions failing to catch up with Real Madrid who occupy pole position and are ten points ahead.

Barcelona have gotten through to the Copa del Rey final, however, and Sanchez's side will be up against Athletic Bilbao who are led by Chilean manager Marcelo Bielsa. Sanchez warned that Barca shouldn't take Bilbao lightly as their manager is a very meticulous person who will definitely approach the final with a strong gameplan.

"Athletic Club have a very, very demanding manager, he notices all the details of the teams he comes up against."

"We'll have to play at 150%."
