Manchester United have approached Borussia Dortmund regarding Mario Gotze, according to the player's agent.
Gotze, 19, is one of the most sought after players in Europe and he already has 12 caps for Germany.
Arsenal were linked with a summer move for him but Arsene Wenger would have to loosen the purse-strings at the
Emirates to land him, considering Dortmund want at least £30m for Gotze.
Sir Alex Ferguson is eager to add some more creativity to his midfield this summer and Dirk Hebel, Gotze's agent, says United have been in touch with Dortmund.
Hebel told calciomercato.com: "I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario. I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.
"I don't know if he'll go away after this season, you should ask Borussia. But I think they will not let him leave for less than 40 million euros. He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured."
