Airdrie ended a run of three straight losses with a resounding 4-1 victory over bottom-of-the-league Stirling.

The hosts got off to a flying start after three minutes when a curled effort from John Boyle found the top corner of Callum Reidford's net.

William McLaren then produced a pinpoint cross from the right channel for Paul Lovering to head in his sixth of the season.

In the second half McLaren turned goalscorer, latching onto Ryan Donnelly's pass to place the ball in the bottom corner from inside the box and Scott Sally's powerful finish, his first of the season, completed the win.

Stirling's Mark Ferry scored a fine consolation in injury time, but any late joy was extinguished for the visitors when Brian Allison's tackle on Jamie Bain saw him dismissed for two bookings.
