Morton vs Raith Rovers preview - Depleted defence for Morton
Posted Saturday, January 14, 2012 by PA
Morton will again be without defenders Ross Forsyth and Stuart McCaffrey when they face Raith.
Grant Evans is a doubt for the clash which comes just seven days after they knocked Rovers out of the Scottish Cup.
Greenock boss Allan Moore said: "We are at home this time and people will be thinking that as you won at Stark's Park then you should win at home. Football is not like that and the players will need to handle increased expectations.
"After a disappointing run of results, we have a platform to have a good 2012 after a couple of successes in the league as well as the Scottish Cup win, and I want to build on it."
Raith are again without Dougie Hill, Scott McBride and Brian Graham through injury.
Rovers have their league position, rather than Scottish Cup revenge, on their minds despite last week's defeat by the same opposition.
Stark's Park boss John McGlynn said: "Meeting the same opponents just after they have beaten you is not ideal but we know where we went wrong.
"We should have had the game won by half-time but there are three points at stake now and that is more valuable to us than making up for going out of the cup.
"We have done well in away games at Partick and Ayr United and we want that to continue. A win moves us towards the pack of clubs in the middle of the table and that is our immediate aim."
