Alexandre Pato: Linked with a £42m move to PSG
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is confident Alexandre Pato will not leave the club in the January transfer window.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain following the appointment of new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Pato recently admitted his relationship with Allegri was not as he would like, which fuelled reports PSG are preparing a €50m (£42m) bid with a salary worth €7m (£5.9m) a year.
But over the weekend the 22-year-old, who is under contract at the San Siro until 2014, played down suggestions of interest from PSG.
Transfer talk has continued regardless, especially with Milan set to play the French club in a friendly in Dubai on Wednesday.
Allegri, though, is quoted as saying at a press conference ahead of the fixture: "Pato is a Milan player and I hope that he remains here for at least the rest of the season.
"I'm sure he will stay with us.
"A vent in the newspapers can happen, but he remains an important player for us."
