Ka-rafty plan for Carlo ’n Becks

CARLO ANCELOTTI wants to pair David Beckham with Kaka at Paris St Germain.

The former Chelsea chief is set to finally take charge of PSG this week and has reportedly made the Brazilian his top target.

Real Madrid coughed up almost £60million for the frontman in 2009 but, plagued by injuries and loss of form, he has failed to shine.

PSG hope the Spanish giants would be prepared to recoup slightly over half that amount to get rid of the 29-year-old former World Player of the Year.

It means Becks, whose switch has not been announced officially but seems certain, would be reunited with his old AC Milan chum.

PSG have nabbed £43m Javier Pastore from Udinese — a man that both City and Chelsea also wanted — but getting Kaka will be a whole new ball game.

It will underline that Qatar Sports Investments, the Arab consortium who own PSG, are a force as big as Manchester City's owners from the United Arab Emirates.

Kaka's stinging snub to City three years ago hurt Blues owner Sheikh Mansour, who bid £100m for the Brazilian superstar.

Given how the Brazilian's Bernabeu career has gone, though, it is probably just as well.

Last summer Kaka set tongues wagging when he met PSG's technical director and Milan legend Leonardo in the French capital.

But Kaka wanted to have one last crack at making his dream move to the Bernabeu work.

It seemed to pay off at the start of the campaign when he made seven consecutive starts and even regained a spot in the Brazil squad.

But little niggles have cost him and once again he has fallen behind Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil in boss Jose Mourinho's pecking order.

While a summer move is more likely, the Brazilian may decide to cut his losses next month.

Wth Ancelotti in charge and Leonardo behind the scenes, Kaka may well rediscover the form that will allow him to lead Brazil's 2014 World Cup bid on home soil.

Beckham got on famously with Kaka in his first spell at Milan and if it all comes together the England megastar's last hoorah in Paris promises to be spectacular.

SPEAKING of Becks, remember his nemesis Diego Simeone?
The former Argentina hardman got him sent off in the 1998 World Cup and will today be unveiled as boss of Atletico Madrid.

A member of the last Atletico side to win La Liga in 1996 he is hugely popular at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

Simeone, 41, retired in 2006 and has already notched up an impressive managerial CV.

He led Estudiantes to their first title for 23 years when they won Argentina's Apertura championship in 2006, then guided River Plate to the Clausura title in 2008.

This year he was Catania's Serie A saviour, helping them to stave off relegation before taking over San Lorenzo back in his homeland.

Atletico are 10th in La Liga — 10 points off a Champions League spot — and Simeone, who was a rabble-rouser as a player, is exactly what the fallen Spanish giants need now to save their season.
