Ashley Cole: Has 'huge' respect for Manchester City's players and staff
Chelsea have denied reports Ashley Cole triggered a tunnel bust-up following Monday's 2-1 win over Manchester City.
It had been suggested the England international instigated some pushing and shoving after the Stamford Bridge contest.
Italian tactician Roberto Mancini hinted that the Blues full-back was behind the fracas, stating: "I don't know if Cole said something."
Respect
However, Chelsea have stated the 30-year-old said nothing to the opposition after the game, only that he has 'huge' respect for City's players and staff.
"Contrary to reports, Ashley Cole did not say anything to the opposition in the tunnel after Monday's game," read a statement on the club's official website.
"Ashley has huge respect for the players and staff at Manchester City, many of whom he knows personally and calls friends."
