OLD PALS' ACT ... Frank Lampard is admired by his former boss Jose Mourinho
JOSE MOURINHO wants to offer Chelsea a sensational swap deal that would rescue Frank Lampard from his Stamford Bridge nightmare.
The Real Madrid boss is ready to exchange former Spanish Under-21 international Esteban Granero for the England star.
Attacking midfielder Granero, 24, is valued at £6million and both Arsenal and Liverpool are keen to sign him next month.
But Mourinho is now prepared to use him as bait to capture 33-year-old Lampard, who is having a torrid time under new Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas.
Real Madrid crashed to a shock home defeat against Barcelona on Saturday night and Mourinho could use Lampard's experience.
The ex-West Ham star was left out of last Tuesday's do-or-die Champions League clash with Valencia at Stamford Bridge, as AVB preferred a new-look midfield of Raul Meireles, Ramires and Oriol Romeu.
