Stirling vs Airdrie United preview - Albion aim to break scoring duck
Posted Saturday, December 03, 2011 by PA
Stirling will be without Shaun Dillon and Marc McCulloch as they look to climb over visitors Airdrie and off the foot of the Second Division.
Shaun Fagan has shrugged off injury and will feature but the game has come too soon for centre-back Greig MacDonald, who is edging back to full fitness following an Achilles problem which has kept him out since February.
Stirling are currently two points behind this weekend`s opponents but have gone five league games without finding the net.
Boss Jocky Scott said: "The boys have been unlucky in front of goal as the performances they have put in have deserved better than what they have got. Hopefully we can put that right against Airdrie and start moving up the table."
Airdrie welcome back central defender David Lilley after suspension as they make the trip to Forthbank.
The Diamonds, who are again missing winger Alastair Woodburn through injury, have scored 20 times in their last four games and manager Jimmy Boyle wants his men to keep that up, while at the same time improving at the back having been breached 14 times during that run.
Boyle said: "What we are doing in our opponents` half has been fantastic but we simply have to tighten things up in defence.
"This would be a huge game to win as it lifts us away from Stirling but we are under no illusions about just how much Stirling want to win and climb above us."
