Czechs well positioned to reach Euro 2012

PODGORICA, Montenegro (AP)—The Czech Republic is well positioned to qualify for its fifth straight European Championship when it takes on Montenegro in the second leg of their playoff on Tuesday.
The Czechs beat Montenegro 2-0 in the first leg on Friday in Prague, with Vaclav Pilar and Tomas Sivok grabbing the goals.
Montenegro is trying to reach its first European Championship since becoming independent in 2006, but will need to break new ground to advance.
Montenegro has never won a competitive match with a two-goal difference.
Montenegro midfielder Stevan Jovetic is still optimistic, saying “in front of our fanatical fans, we can qualify.”
