Trabzonspor and CSKA Moscow shared a goalless draw in the Champions League to leave the two sides fighting it out for second place behind Inter Milan in Group B.

The Russian side ended the game with 10 men after Seydon Doumbia was sent off with a little over 15 minutes remaining, but the hosts could not make the extra man count as both sides came close in a frantic finish.

Trabzonspor were indebted to goalkeeper Tolga Zengin who made a number of excellent saves, but the result leaves both sides four points behind Inter.

The hosts looked to press from the outset, but CSKA initially came closest to opening the scoring.

Vagner Love had a shot blocked while Doumbia raced onto a pass and rounded Zengin only to see his shot cleared off the line by Giray Kacar.

Adrian Mierzejewski hit a long-range shot over for the hosts who were then grateful to Zengin who tipped Love's fierce shot over.

Zengin was called into action again shortly after but Zoran Tosic's shot from distance took a deflection and the goalkeeper gathered well under pressure.

Burak Yilmaz had been having a luckless evening for the Turkish side up front but on the half-hour he held off Vasili Berezutski's challenge, swivelled and fired in a shot which went just wide of the post.

However, the hosts were again indebted to Zengin when Doumbia raced through on goal, the keeper saving his shot across goal.

Paulo Henrique almost went through on goal for Trabzonspor before Aleksei Berezutski got across and cleared.

Alanzinho then charged forward for the hosts before he produced a shot Vladimir Gabulov held as he was finally called into action.

CSKA were reduced to 10 men when Doumbia was sent off for his second yellow card following a foul on Didier Zokora.

CSKA almost snatched a goal when Love fired a snap-shot at Zengin who saved well.

Moments later Yilmaz was found by Ondrej Celustka and he took it first time only for the ball to go straight into Gabulov's arms.

Berezutski then headed narrowly wide from Dzagoev's ball as both sides searched for victory before the latter fired in a 25-yard shot which was tipped over by Zengin.

Trabzonspor almost won it in injury-time when Arkadiusz Glowacki's effort came off the post and hit a CSKA defender before ricocheting wide.
