Stenhousemuir 1 : 1 Brechin City - Warriors fail to make numbers count
Posted Saturday, October 22, 2011 by PA
Stenhousemuir failed to make the most of their numerical advantage as 10-man Brechin held out for a 1-1 draw.
The opener came on the half-hour mark when Stenhousemuir's William Lyle upended Bryan Hodge in the area. Charlie King stepped up to score his second penalty in as many games.
Hodge then turned from hero to villain, fouling Eric Paton to receive his marching orders.
Stenhousemuir soon took control, and five minutes before the break Sean Dickson fired past Craig Nelson from Paton's pass.
But despite having nearly all the possession after the break, the Warriors failed to seriously test Nelson in the Brechin goal, as the visitors held out for a point.
