Greenock Morton 0 : 2 Hamilton FC - Double sub joy for Hamilton
Posted Saturday, October 15, 2011 by PA
Goals from substitutes Paul Currie and Grant Anderson gave Hamilton a 2-0 win over Morton and ended the hosts' 100% home record.
The visitors started the game brightly and Morton goalkeeper Colin Stewart had to be alert to push away James McAlister's long-range volley.
The Ton fought back after the restart and Marc Smyth's acrobatic overhead kick struck the crossbar early in the second half.
But it was Hamilton who took the lead in the 72nd minute when Anderson's inviting cross was headed in by Currie.
Five minutes later Anderson got on the scoresheet himself, firing in a right-footed shot from close range to wrap up the points.
The defeat means Morton vacated their place at the top of the table and slipped down to fourth.
