Albion Rovers FC 0 : 3 East Fife - Johnstone at the double for Fifers
Posted Saturday, October 15, 2011 by PA
Craig Johnstone's double saw East Fife to a comfortable 3-0 win which keeps Albion rooted to the bottom of Scottish Second Division.
The hosts almost went ahead in the 29th minute but Robert Love's drilled effort from the edge of the area was tipped wide by the Fifers' goalkeeper Mark Ridgers.
Rovers were made to pay for that miss eight minutes later when Robert Linn found Johnstone from the right channel and the midfielder calmly converted from 12 yards.
Johnstone notched his second in the 51st minute when his curled free-kick from the right wing evaded everyone, including Albion goalkeeper Derek Gaston.
Matthew Park found Linn eight minutes from time and the midfielder drilled his shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner to put the game to bed.
