Harry Redknapp says Luka Modric would never rock the boat like Carlos Tevez

HARRY REDKNAPP insists Luka Modric will never become a renegade like Carlos Tevez.

Modric wanted to leave Spurs for Chelsea in the summer and Tevez was desperate to quit Manchester City — but neither star got a move.

Yet there has been a massive difference in their reaction. While Tevez has gone into meltdown, Tottenham's Croatian ace has powered his team to four successive Premier League wins.

Spurs boss Redknapp said of the Tevez row: "It could not have gone that way with Luka. Not a chance. Every day he came in and trained well.

"You could not meet a nicer fella. He would not dream of coming in and disrupting training. If he had done, he may have got his move.

"He could have been disruptive and I may have said to the chairman 'This cannot go on.'

"But he got on with it and this was the big key. Luka has a lot of close friends if he had wanted to have been a nuisance — but it's not in his nature."

After a tough start, Spurs, who are at Newcastle tomorrow, are firing on all cylinders and Redknapp insists this is his best-ever side.

He said: "This is a good group of players. Scott Parker came in and so did Adebayor. They will have a big influence. Kyle Walker is emerging. We are looking stronger."

Redknapp is unlikely to make another move for David Beckham. He said: "I have a lot of players in those positions. But who knows?"
