Forfar Athletic vs Arbroath preview - Loons and Red Lichties braced for derby clash
Posted Saturday, October 15, 2011 by PA
Forfar will bring in Greg Paterson to replace suspended goalkeeper Adam McHugh for their local derby with league leaders Arbroath at Station Park.
The sixth-placed Loons will also be missing defenders Greg Ross and Craig Wilson as they look to bounce back after consecutive defeats to Dumbarton and East Fife.
Assistant manager Ian Campbell said: "This is a huge game for us due to the local nature of it and the fact that Arbroath are doing so well. They are going into it as favourites due to the start they have made in the league, so it is up to us to try and turn the form book around.
"Despite being underdogs for the game it is a match we are really looking forward to."
Player/manager Paul Sheerin is Arbroath`s only absentee for the short trip to their Angus rivals.
Sheerin is sidelined for the next six weeks after surgery was required to correct a knee injury.
The Gayfield boss is looking for his men to keep their neighbours at bay, and said, "We have a nine-point advantage over Forfar and are unbeaten since the second game of the season.
"Ending this one having increased that gap would be a fantastic achievement but I know it will not be easy as their manager Dick Campbell will have them fired up and out to knock us out of our stride."
