Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has praised the effect that the club’s new signings Scott Parker, Emmanuel Adebayor and Brad Friedel have had on the team this season.

Spurs currently lie sixth in the Premier League after six games and Redknapp believes the confidence boost given to the club by its new players is one of the reasons for the good start.

"Scott (Parker) was a big signing, I had no doubts about his ability and what he could bring to this football club and he’s been every bit as good as I expected him to be," the manager told the club's official website. "In the next few years I think he will be massive for Tottenham. The fans absolutely have taken to him because of the way he plays the game, he’s a great guy to have around the place, he’s a fantastic professional, and he’s top class."

As for Adebayor, Redknapp points to the team's record with the big striker in the lineup as a testament to his ability.

"Manu [Adebayor] is a player with great ability," he said. "He’s brought so much to the team. He’s played four games, we’ve won four games and it’s no coincidence, he’s had that impact, and with Scott he’s made a big difference to the team.”

Redknapp also praised the form of Brad Friedel who joined in the summer on a free transfer and replaced Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes between the sticks.

"Brad, again, he’s a fantastic professional, his record of consecutive games in the Barclays Premier League has been amazing," he sad of the American. "He was a big signing for us, but it was difficult because I’ve got two other great goalkeepers here. Gomes is a fantastic goalkeeper and Carlo Cudicini as well. So it was a difficult one, but I just thought, I need three goalkeepers and Brad was available and he’s come in to the team and he’s been magnificent. Even in the couple of defeats that we had early on, I thought his performances were top class. He’s a top professional and a fantastic guy."
