Farid El Alagui's goal ended Hamilton's unbeaten home record as Falkirk moved up to fourth with a 1-0 win at New Douglas Park.
Douglas Imrie fired wide from 25-yards for the Accies just after the midway point of the first half before Jay Fulton's effort was caught by Hamilton `keeper Tomas Cerny at the other end.
The decisive moment came on 39 minutes as Falkirk top-scorer El Alagui headed home Kieran Duffie's right-wing cross to put the Bairns ahead with his fifth league goal of the season.
Hamilton attempted to hit back in the second half but Paul Currie twice wasted opportunities and substitute goalkeeper David Hutton had to be alert to prevent Mark Millar from doubling the visitors' lead.
