Didier Drogba reveals injury fear
CLASH ... Norwich keeper John Ruddy and Chelsea's Didier Drogba collide

DIDIER DROGBA remembers nothing of the challenge with Norwich keeper John Ruddy which knocked him spark out.
But he does remember coming round in the ambulance taking him to hospital.

And the Chelsea ace, with a reputation as a fearless barnstorming striker, admitted: "I was scared."

Drogba has suffered injuries, including a broken leg and an arm. But this was very different — and he revealed he'd never been in such a frightening situation before.

As he looked back on the August 27 incident, Drogba said: "When I woke up in the ambulance I was scared because I didn't know what I was doing there.

"I couldn't remember anything from after Norwich equalised until I was being rushed to hospital. I didn't know what was going on.

"It was a weird feeling and a difficult moment. I understand now what it must be like for a boxer when they are knocked out.

"But I'm really grateful to everyone who helped me, the stadium staff and the medics who calmed me down. They told me I'd been unconscious for between six and eight minutes."

It was only later when Drogba saw replays of the incident on TV that he realised the full horror of the situation.

He went in for a cross with Ruddy and the keeper accidentally punched him on the side of the head. As a result, Drogba went down like the proverbial sack of potatoes.

He was motionless and the concern on the face of his team-mates and opponents said it all.

Drogba, 33, can laugh at the fact he has since been told he was offside so needn't have bothered going for the ball at all but the rest of it is no joke.
