MANCHESTER CITY have stuck two fingers up at Alex Ferguson by completing the shock signing of Owen Hargreaves.
The injury-hit midfielder was shown the door by Manchester United boss Fergie in May after failing to prove his fitness.
Hargreaves, 30, then released a video on YouTube to prove he had overcome his long-term knee problems — and it paid off.
But City still put him through a three-hour medical ahead of giving him a one-year deal.
City will be hoping he can put in the sort of displays that made him an England regular, with Hargreaves in line to make his debut against old club Bayern Munich later this month.
