LONDON (AP)—Chelsea relied on late goals from Frank Lampard and Juan Mata to beat Norwich 3-1 but the hosts were left reeling from an injury to Didier Drogba during Saturday’s Premier League match.
Drogba appeared to be knocked unconscious in an aerial challenge with John Ruddy and was carried off after more than five minutes of treatment on the pitch.
The injury came just after Grant Holt pounced on a mistake by Chelsea goalkeeper Hilario in the 63rd minute to cancel out Jose Bosingwa’s early opener.
Frank Lampard scored from the penalty spot in the 82nd after Ruddy was sent off for fouling Ramires and substitute Mata, who was signed from Valencia during the week, marked his debut with a stoppage time goal.
