CITY LIFE ... Nasri in training yesterday
Samir Nasri last night insisted he didn't join Manchester City for the money — but Harry Redknapp for one doesn't believe him.
Midfielder Nasri tripled his wages with a £175,000-a-week deal when he left Arsenal for the Etihad Stadium for a £24million fee.
But France star Nasri, 24, is angry at suggestions that the thought of cash came before cups.
He insisted: "Money is not really a factor. I can let people think what they like.
"Me, I know my choice. It was about football and we will see that at the end of the season when we lift a trophy and talk about my choice again. People who talk about money will see they are wrong."
Spurs boss Redknapp — preparing for City's visit tomorrow — scoffed at Nasri's claims.
He said: "I don't believe that, no. He could have gone to Manchester United. They wanted him and he wanted to go to Man Utd really, that's what I heard."But then Man City came in and offered him more money again so he went to Man City. Man Utd are still the biggest team in England. City haven't got the tradition of United, Arsenal or Liverpool.
"But City are the more powerful club because at the end of the day they can pay wages that Arsenal can't pay.
"That's your problem. If they're interested, it's a dream move for a player to suddenly go and get £200k a week for five years.
"They haven't got to worry too much after that, have they?"
