Barton: Claims he is being forced out of Newcastle
Joey Barton has moved a step closer to joining Queens Park Rangers after revealing he will undergo a medical at the club on Wednesday.
As revealed by Sky Sports sources, the Newcastle midfielder began talks with the Hoops earlier in the day after being placed on the transfer list earlier in the summer.
Despite featuring prominently in Newcastle's opening two Premier League fixtures, the club are determined to lose ties with him after he criticised the their transfer policies via his Twitter account.
And he has since revealed on the social networking site: "Going for a medical now, still no contract offer from NUFC.......think that just about makes my mind up."
He added: "Don't want to leave Newcastle........I've made that clear but my hands are tied."
