Harry Redknapp: I’ve lost all my Prem games at Man United
RED PERIL ... but Redknap loves challenge of playing at Old Trafford

SOMEONE told me the other day I've been to Old Trafford 13 times as a Premier League manager... and lost the lot.

Thanks for pointing that out but I still can't wait for tonight's game against Manchester United, even if it is the toughest possible start to the season for Spurs.

Playing at Old Trafford is the ultimate thrill for any manager or footballer.

I will tell my players they have got to enjoy playing in such a fantastic stadium.

You never know if it's going to be your last visit to one of the great venues of world football.

I know my record there isn't great but I'm no different to any other manager on that score.

You tell me any other visiting team with a winning record at United. There isn't one.

United won the league last time out because they only dropped two points at home all season. West Brom got a draw there. Everyone else was beaten. I will name an attacking line-up but we're not kidding ourselves.

No matter how well we might play tonight, the chances are we'll still be defending for most of the game because United tend to be on top in all their home matches.

Alex Ferguson has produced one great team after another but last year I felt they ground the title out.

But you still have to give them great credit for taking advantage when Chelsea and Arsenal faltered.

Now United have reinforced their squad by spending £50million on Ashley Young, Phil Jones and David de Gea.

And, like Barcelona, they have done it from a position of strength. They haven't waited until they were on the decline because that's when you make panic buys.

I tried to sign Young and Jones but when United are in the hunt it's very difficult for anyone else to get a look-in.

I first made a move for Young three or four years ago and have been after him ever since. Every club in the top six wanted Jones but the boy chose United and good luck to him.

De Gea has had a nervous start in England and, of course, we'll be looking to exploit that tonight. But I'm sure he'll settle in quickly.

Our opening league fixtures are at United and home to Manchester City. When you look at the City squad, it's scary.

People have said Sergio Aguero looks useful. At 250 grand a week, I should bloody well think so.

We can't compete with those kind of wages but there's no point complaining about it.

We'll get one or two new players in before the transfer window closes.

The chairman is very close to a couple of deals and he knows we have to keep improving just to keep in touch with the other clubs around us.
