Manchester City's Roberto Mancini says no club can currently pay Carlos Tevez's value

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini knows that Carlos Tevez wants to leave Eastlands, but the Argentine won't go unless his transfer value is met. Right now, no club has been able to do that.

Tevez's desire to seek a move away from Manchester this summer to be closer to his family has been well documented, with a prospective move to Corinthians falling through last month.

Now, with the transfer window soon to close, Mancini says the Argentine's inclusion in the first team is far from a formality despite the forward nearing a return to full fitness following his participation in the Copa America.

Speaking to reporters, Mancini said: “He is not 100 percent fit, but he is fit enough to play 45 minutes, he will probably be available. I will wait until Saturday to decide, but it is possible he will be in the squad."

“I don’t think there will be a problem if he stays because he’s a professional player and knows the rules. He knows that if he wants to leave, he can, but at the moment there isn’t any club who can pay his value."

“I respect his life and his reasons why he wants to leave the club. We have another 10 days before the deadline is up and if, in that time, we don’t close a move for Carlos, he will stay here."

Mancini has also hailed the arrival of Tevez's compatriot, Sergio Aguero, at Eastlands, with the former Atletico Madrid striker scoring two goals and creating another on his Premier League debut against Swansea City.

“I hope he can finish top scorer in the Premier League," he continued. “We already have one player who can score 20 goals, Carlos. If we have another who can score 20 goals, that would be good."
