Pastore: Latest big-money signing for PSG
Chelsea and Manchester City target Javier Pastore has completed a reported £37million move from Palermo to Paris St Germain.
The Argentina international was the subject of sustained interest from the Premier League duo as well as both Milan clubs over the summer, but no one could agree a fee with the Serie A club.
However, Ligue 1 outfit Paris St Germain are flush with cash following the Qatar Investment Authority's investment in the club two months ago and had no problem matching Palermo's £37million asking price for the 22-year-old.
Speaking just prior to signing a five-year contract with the Parc des Princes club, Pastore expressed his desire to help them win their first French title since 1994.
"I am very eager to begin this new phase. They explained the project and immediately seduced me to the challenge," said Pastore.
"Winning the local tournament and the cup - I want the team to succeed in everything.
"In particular I will give my best in every game. It makes me immensely happy that they trusted me."
