Manchester United insist Wesley Sneijder is 'perfect' for the club

MANCHESTER UNITED last night confirmed: We want Wesley Sneijder.
In fact, the Premier League champions reckon the Inter Milan midfielder would be the perfect signing.
Alex Ferguson's right-hand man Rene Meulensteen said: "The 'new Paul Scholes' does not exist, just as there is not a 'new Roy Keane'.
"But I cannot think of anyone more perfect for us than Wesley Sneijder.
"I've been at United for a while, I know the team inside out and I know he would be a great reinforcement.
"Purely on the basis of his ability, I would say 'Get Sneijder'."
Sneijder has been linked with United for some time and there are signs Inter might be tempted to sell their £35million-rated Dutch star.
The 27-year-old moved to Milan from Real Madrid in 2009 and played a key role as Inter won the Treble under Jose Mourinho two seasons ago.
United first-team coach Meulensteen is in his second spell at Old Trafford and has been a key member of boss Fergie's backroom staff.
He added: "Sneijder is not a runner but perfectly two-footed. He can run the game and put the ball wherever he wants.
"He seems a perfect addition to players like Hernandez, Rooney, Park, Young, Valencia, Nani and Giggs.
"But I don't know how his future is at Inter - whether he is allowed to leave and whether we can pay him."
