Malaga signs winger Joaquin from Valencia

MALAGA, Spain (AP)—Malaga says it has signed winger Joaquin Sanchez from Valencia, the club’s latest move on the transfer market ahead of next season.
Malaga says the 30-year-old former Spain international will be presented to the media on Monday. According to Spanish reports, he has agreed to a three-year deal and cost his new club ?4 million ($5.7 million).

Getty Images - May 15, 4:17 pm EDT World Soccer Gallery Joaquin joined Valencia from Real Betis for ?25 million (then $32 million) in 2006. He won the Copa del Rey at Valencia and played for Spain at the 2002 and ’06 World Cups.
Malaga, owned by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani, has already signed Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jeremy Toulalan, Diego Buananotte and Ignacio Monreal for the new season.
