Arsenal star Samir Nasri is ready to sit down with Arsene Wenger to discuss his future as he seeks assurances over the club's transfer targets this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Nasri was one Arsenal’s shining lights last season in a campaign that left the club trophy-less once more, and is now stalling on signing a new contract as he is yet to be convinced of Arsenal’s ability to compete for top honors next season.

Arsenal has reportedly offered Nasri a new five-year deal worth 80,000 pounds a week, but it is believed his willingness to sign it hinges on Wenger’s transfer activity.

Nasri is thought to have attracted interest from Arsenal's title rivals Manchester United, though Wenger has ruled out any possibility of him joining Sir Alex Ferguson’s team.

Wenger is understood to be running out of patience with the player he signed from Marseille in 2008, and is determined not to replicate the situation three years ago when he lost Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan on a free transfer after Flamini ran down his Arsenal contract.

Wenger is reportedly close to securing deals for both Lille striker Gervinho and Ricardo Alvarez, an attacking midfielder from Argentinean club Velez Sarsfield.
