Report: LA Galaxy to make ambitious bid for Roma's Francesco Totti
Posted Friday, June 17, 2011 by YAHOO Sport
The Los Angeles Galaxy are reportedly ready to make a sensational bid to sign Roma forward Francesco Totti.
Bruce Arena's side have started the 2011 MLS season well, and are currently top of the Western Conference, winning eight of their first 17 games.
The wealthy American outfit already boast David Beckham in their ranks, and may try to add another marquee name to their squad.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Galaxy are willing to offer Totti €14 million per year to leave the Eternal City.
Despite the lucrative deal, the move is unlikely to materialize as the former Italy star prepares for life at the Olimpico under new coach Luis Enrique.
The club captain scored 15 goals and set up nine more in 32 Serie A appearances for Roma last season.
