Italian champions AC Milan have quelled speculation that Thiago Silva could be moving to Barcelona and also ruled out the possible return of Kaka from Real Madrid.
The ANSA news agency on Wednesday quoted club vice president Adriano Galliani as saying that "certainly Thiago Silva will not leave Milan."
The 26-year-old Brazilian defender, who is with the Devils since January 2009, had said earlier this week he had contacts with the European champions.
He added that Barca would have to discuss a possible transfer with Milan "because three months ago I renewed my contract until 2016."
"We all talk with everyone," Galliani said. "Therefore Barcelona did nothing special. European (club) managers talk with players and agents. Let's not be like the vestal virgins."
Galliani said he this week met Kaka's father, who is also the agent of the footballer, but only to discuss ending the contract of his other son Digao.
"About Kaka I can say that he will not return," Galliani said. "Not even on loan because his pay is too high."
Kaka, 29, played with Milan from 2003 to 2009, winning a national and a continental title.
The vice president added that Milan are looking for a high-profile signing, which is likely to take place in August toward the end of the transfer window.
