Best friends ... Eva Longoria was thrilled by Victoria Beckham's baby request

PREGNANT VICTORIA BECKHAM has asked her best friend EVA LONGORIA to be the godmother of her unborn daughter, The Sun can reveal.

The stunning Desperate Housewives star, 36, was offered the role after Posh helped her through her divorce from basketball ace TONY PARKER in January.

Other big names to have been considered by Victoria and hubby DAVID included GORDON RAMSAY and his wife TANA, HEIDI KLUM and her husband SEAL - and WILLS AND KATE.

A friend said: "Victoria ran it past David and they both want Eva. She's extremely honoured."

SIR ELTON JOHN and LIZ HURLEY are godparents to both of the Beckhams' first two sons, Brooklyn, 12, and Romeo, eight.

The Sun revealed Posh, 37, has pencilled in July 4 - American Independence Day - to have a caesarean in LA.

The mum of three and Becks, 36, have already received gifts from their A-list pals, including a personalised romper suit that reads: "Isn't my mummy posh?"

David yesterday revealed he hopes to take his daughter to the Olympics next July.

The ex-England star, who is from East London where the Games will be held, said he "would love" to play for Great Britain.

Speaking in London, he added: "I'd be honoured to be something in the GB team, especially being an East End lad.

"Above all, I'll be a fan. I'm proud and delighted to be able to take my sons to an Olympics in the area where I grew up. Hopefully my daughter will be there too."
