ROME (AFP) - Dutch veteran Clarence Seedorf on Wednesday signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at AC Milan until the end of next season.

In so doing the 35-year-old midfielder has joined fellow veterans Filippo Inzaghi, Alessandro Nesta, Mark van Bommel and Flavio Roma in extending his Milan stay for another year.

It is the latest move by Milan to sort out their playing staff for next season.

Already they have signed defenders Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo while Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva extended his contract to 2016 and Kevin-Prince Boateng was snapped up permanently from a part-ownership agreement with Genoa.

Only midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who was at the end of his contract and has now joined Juventus, and Greek centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos have been allowed to leave so far.

Seedorf's deal will take his stay in Milan to 10 years, during which time he has won the Champions League and Serie A title twice each.

He is the only man ever to have won the Champions League with three different clubs—winning it four times in total—in three different countries while he also lifted league titles in Spain (with Real Madrid) and Holland (twice with Ajax).

The Surinam-born midfielder was capped 87 times by Holland, scoring 11 goals. He played in the 1998 World Cup and three European Championships.
