Fiorentina vs Bologna preview - Malesani - Let`s finish on a high

Bologna coach Alberto Malesani has called for his side to finish off a disappointing end to the campaign with two wins.

The Rossoblu travel to Fiorentina having mustered just one triumph in their last nine league games.

Not that long ago, Bologna looked to be safe from relegation but a dismal run of results have left Malesani4s side yet to confirm their top-flight status.

Last weekend4s goalless draw against Parma halted a five-match losing streak for Bologna and left the Rossoblu in 15th place, five points clear of the drop zone with two games to go.

"We lack freshness and determination," Malesani said. "At this time we struggle to attack the rivals4defences.

"We did well earlier this season but now we just find it difficult."

Bologna lost just two of their opening nine games this year but at no time in recent weeks have they shown that quality to contend for a place in the top half of the table.

They have failed to score in their last five league games and their recent displays have been below par.

"I hope my players can produce a winning performance in Tuscany," Malesani said. "We need at least one more point to ensure Serie A safety but we will go out for a win against Fiorentina."

Rivals Fiorentina also go into the match looking to return to winning ways.

Last weekend4s 3-1 defeat at Inter Milan was their 11th loss of the campaign and left the Viola in ninth place.

Fiorentina will miss out on European football for a second straight season and coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who is in his first year at the club, knows there is a lot of work to do to return the Viola to continental competition.

"We want to end the campaign in the best possible way," he said. "We have had injury problems this campaign and we have had ups and downs.

"There is a lot to build on from this year and there are the means to do it."
