RENNES, France (AFP) - Rennes highly-rated goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez is to sign for French giants Paris Saint Germain from rivals Rennes, it was revealed on Monday.
The 31-year-old - who has yet to be capped though he has featured in several squads - informed Rennes' general manager Pierre Dreossi on Sunday evening of his decision.
"He (Douchez) has chosen Paris. For us it is clear. From this moment on we are going to speed up the process of thinking of who is the best option to replace him," said Dreossi.
Dreossi, who enjoyed a successful spell with Toulouse before signing for Rennes in 2008, had been thinking over several offers for a long time before opting for PSG, whose offer was not the most financially lucrative.
