PARIS (AFP) - French top flight outfit Paris Saint Germain have extended the contract of coach Antoine Kombouare by one year to June 2013, the club said Monday.
"With a view to continuity and satisfied with the work he has been doing the club decided to exercise the option to extend Antoine Kombouare's contract by one year," the club announced.
New Caledonia-born Kombouare was a defender with PSG in the early 1990s and then trained the reserve team for four seasons to 2003.
After a spell in charge of Valenciennes, whom he led to promotion from the second division, he then succeeded Paul Le Guen as PSG coach in June 2009.
The club are now fourth and still have an outside chance of the title - they trail leaders Lille by seven points with five games remaining - while hoping at least to bag a Champions League preliminary round slot.
The club are also looking to retain the French Cup having reached the May 14 final showdown with Lille.
