Dale Hilson scored his third goal of the season as Forfar secured their Second Division play-off place with a 1-0 win over 10-man Brechin.

The 18-year-old striker, on a season-long loan from Dundee United, neatly converted Ross Campbell's dangerous cross from the left wing in the 58th minute to secure the points.

Brechin had David McKenna dismissed for a professional foul after only 25 minutes, but they created plenty of chances but could not find a way past Loons goalkeeper Neil Duffy.

James Redman headed over from close range after just seven minutes for the hosts before Duffy palmed away a number of efforts, the best of which was a curling effort from substitute Daniel McKay in the 64th minute.
