CARLOS TEVEZ faces FA Cup D-Day today.

Manchester City skipper Carlos Tevez will have a scan on his damaged hamstring – but boss Roberto Mancini is facing up to being without weeks after limping out of his side’s crushing defeat at Liverpool on Monday.

City are desperate for him to face Manchester United in Saturday’s semi-fi nal at Wembley and will seek a second opinion.

But Mancini is fearing the worst and will prepare a side that does not feature the Argentine ace.

To make matters worse, fresh doubts have surfaced about Tevez’s future after it emerged last night Inter Milan are putting together a £30m package aimed at luring him to the San Siro in the summer.

The Italian giants have made Tevez their No.1 target and are willing to offer his fellow country- man Diego Milito in a player-plus-cash deal. Tevez could quit Eastlands if City fail to land Champions League football this season.

Now Mancini will order City’s medical staff to get him fi t again as quickly as possible as they look to secure a top-four fi nish that could prevent both of them from heading through the exit door in May.

Meanwhile, Gareth Barry has ordered Mancini’s men to bounce back against United.

The England star reckons there will be no excuses for not being up for the challenge at Wembley – and to prove the loss at Anfi eld was just a blip.

Barry said: “It was our worst performance of the season. It’s diffi cult to put your fi nger on anything in particular.

“I’m not sure we can blame Saturday too much. Obviously it’s a massive game – but this was too for our league position.

“We have to bounce back. It should be easy to pick ourselves up.

“It’s a semi-fi nal at Wembley. If you can’t get yourself up for that then you shouldn’t be in the game.”

Barry is determined to help City fi nish strongly to avoid a repeat of last season’s heartbreak with failure to secure Champions League qualifi cation.

He added: “It’s important we learn from the hurt we suffered last year. That will make us even more determined.”
