Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson's Wayne storm warning

SIR ALEX Ferguson is warning Chelsea they will be swept away by a Wayne storm in the Champions League on Tuesday.

There’s a belief at Old Trafford that the Manchester United star has been victimised for his F-word salvo into a TV camera.

But United boss Fergie swears that Rooney’s controversial two-match ban will only serve to see him explode his talents in the quarter-final second leg.

Wazza and his team-mates, leading 1-0 from the first leg, are going for the kill with Fergie planning an all-out assault from kick-off.

He said: “Wayne will not be injured on Tuesday, that’s for sure. Knowing Wayne, he will be spurred on by this. It won’t crush him.

“We have motivation. Great motivation this time. He was disappointed with the decision and there is a tendency to think he’s been victimised.

“The other players are showing their determination, too. They know what’s going on. They’re not stupid. They can’t understand it. No one can understand it.

“Even my wife, when I got home on Saturday night, said: ‘They will do him’. I said don’t be stupid – they can’t do him for celebrating.

“Bloody hell. It was amazing. Wayne wrote a letter to the FA. He did his bit. We thought we had put in a proper appeal and Wayne apologised.

“You have got to take your medicine and get on with it. But I don’t know these people in the FA doing these things.

‘‘I don’t know how many full-timers they have got but someone said they have 14 in the disciplinary department.

Fourteen full-time – for what?

“Now we’ve got to win the match against Chelsea and forget anything else.

‘‘The direct route for me is to win the match. Go and win it in the same fashion and determination we showed in the first leg.”

Ferguson is delighted his defence has been strengthened by the return of Rio Ferdinand, who was brilliant against Chelsea.

He added: “Rio’s a natural athlete, like Paul McGrath in that respect. We’ve sorted his back problem out.

“Rio does a lot of yoga exercises and I don’t contemplate any problem with the injuries now. He is fresh and that’s good.”
