Fiorentina vs AC Milan preview - Milan strive to extend winning feeling

AC Milan will look to maintain their good run of form against Fiorentina on Sunday and stretch their lead at the top of the Serie A table.

The Rossoneri, three points clear of Napoli and five ahead of Inter Milan, have won their last six league games against the Viola.

Milan travel to Tuscany on the back of last weekend's 3-0 triumph over Inter.

"We will go to Florence with the same approach as always," said AC Milan club administrator Adriano Galliani.

"The team is really motivated.

"We are leading the standings for the 21st week, and we will still do so regardless of what happens this weekend.

"At this point we have the duty to try to win the scudetto."

Galliani stressed the importance of not being overconfident against the Viola.

"In our last five games, we have beaten Napoli, Juventus and Inter while clinching just one point from our games against Bari and Palermo," he said.

"We must remain focused."

Their defeat at Palermo on March 19 halted Milan's 13-match unbeaten run on the road.

Massimiliano Allegri's side will be bolstered by the return of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic from suspension for Sunday's match.

Ibrahimovic is Milan's top scorer this season with 14 goals.

However, Milan will be without Antonio Cassano, who must serve a one-match ban.

Fiorentina are unbeaten in six games with two wins.

"It's going to be a complicated game," said Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino, a former striker at AC Milan.

"The fact that we have not beaten Milan in our last 10 league games does not worry us.

"This is not something we think about.

"With the help of our fans, we can play our game and get a good result at the Artemio Franchi stadium."

The Viola were held to a 2-2 draw at struggling Cesena last time out.

Sinisa Mihajlovic's side is ninth in the standings, eight points behind Roma, who hold the final Europa League qualifying spot.

The Viola will be without pivotal striker Adrian Mutu, who is suspended.
