Brechin City vs East Fife preview - No King for Brechin
Posted Saturday, April 09, 2011 by PA
Brechin will be without Charlie King as they face East Fife.
King has been ruled out with Paul McLean, Gerry McLauchlan and Jamie Redman all facing fitness tests before they can be considered for duty.
The Glebe Park men are looking to consolidate their second place in the table and deny Livingston the title, for a few days at least, by grabbing all three points.
Manager Jim Weir said: "Livingston are going to win the title and it is only a matter of when, so that does not come into my head when it comes to thinking about why we want to win this game.
"It is more important to me that we keep on winning so we can secure a play-off place and go into then with some confidence behind us."
East Fife look set to again be without the injured quartet of Stevie Campbell, Jim Hamilton, Robert Sloan and Craig Johnstone.
The four will all remain on the sidelines as the Fifers look for the win that will keep them on the fringes of the promotion race.
Manager John Robertson said: "We need three points to hang onto the coat-tails of the leading sides but also we are not clear of issues at the foot of the table either.
"We will take confidence from the run Airdrie have gone on and if we can do something like that we will hopefully be in the mix come the end of the season.
"It will be hard all the same as Brechin have good players and will want to bounce back from losing in midweek."
