Posted Tuesday, March 29, 2011 by PA
Brechin maintained their grip on second place in the Scottish Third Division with a hard fought 3-2 home win over Alloa
City took the lead after four minutes when Rory McAllister netted his 21st league goal of the season from long range.
It was 2-0 10 minutes later when David McKenna found Craig Molloy who fired in from 12 yards.
Alloa did pull one back five minutes before the break though through James Lister's 25-yarder.
Both sides had second-half chances before Neil Janczyk made it 3-1 12 minutes from time with his own 25-yard effort.
However, Athletic kept fighting and netted a deserved second goal in injury time when Michael McGowan converted a penalty after Ewan Moyes' foul on Stuart Noble.
