Colombia 2-0 Ecuador

Battling in the Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid on Saturday, Colombia took down Ecuador 2-0 thanks to goals from FC Porto players Fredy Guarin and Radamel Falcao.

The Colombians were the top team throughout, dominating their neighbors to the south with solid passes and creative attacking.

In the early going, Colombia showed their creativity by getting through the Ecuador defence on numerous occasions but had nothing to show for it.

In the 24th minute, they finally did.

Guarin struck first with a glorious free kick from 30 yards out, hitting a powerful shot to the bottom right of the goal, beating the wall to the right.

Falcao put away the second goal after a receiving a through ball from nearly 40 metres out. The former River Plate star only needed two touches after letting the ball advance ahead, faking to his left with the first touch, leaving the goalkeeper helpless, finishing easy from close.

Mexico 3-1 Paraguay

Manchester United Star Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez scored a brace to lead Mexico to a 3-1 victory over Paraguay in California.

Hernandez scored seven minutes in with a diving header off a lovely cross from Zinha.

The Brazilian-born midfielder placed a ball to the front post that found Hernandez perfectly.

Andres Guardado scored the second thanks to a stellar pass from Rafael Marquez. The New York Red Bulls man curved in a cross that found Guardado in the middle of the box.

Guardado settled the ball before placing it to the left of the net with the finish before the half hour.

Chicharito added his second after a fantastic pass from Gerardo Torrado found Ricardo Osorio running towards the box. Osorio placed a low pass in front of the goal that found Hernandez, who powerfully put it away.

Christian Riveros added a goal five minutes from time for the Paraguayans, who looked dismal on the day.
