Forfar strengthened their play-off claims in Division Two with a 1-0 win over fellow promotion-chasers Ayr.
Bryan Deasley rifled home from the edge of the penalty area with just four minutes remaining to hand the away side victory in a tentative contest.
Alan Trouten and Mark Roberts had speculative early efforts saved by Scott Gallacher before Michael Moffat brought the best out of the Forfar goalkeeper as he had to tip over an 18-yard shot.
The visitors looked short of ideas in the first-half but Ryan Dow was making a nuisance of himself up-front without ever really troubling home-stopper Alan Martin.
Ayr midfielder William Easton saw a couple of good efforts saved in the early stages of the second-half but neither side could find a breakthrough until Beasley struck to seal the contest.
